Grants Advisor Enhancing Good Governance in Sudan Programme
Job Description
The Grants Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of the 'Enhancing Good Governance in Sudan' Programme, focusing on intervention area 2. Primary responsibilities include advising Sudanese civil society organisations (CSOs) on project design and implementation within the Qudra Fund framework, providing technical support to shortlisted CSOs in drafting project proposals, and offering regular backstopping to funded partners. The role involves evaluating narrative reports, conducting mid-term review sessions to identify success stories and address challenges, and supporting the preparation and implementation of additional Calls for Proposals for Sudanese CSOs. The Grants Advisor will also manage the grants platform, provide guidance to applicants on general requirements, facilitate orientation sessions in English and Arabic, and contribute to lessons-learnt documentation. Additionally, the role includes supporting programme documentation, knowledge-sharing, and direct implementation tasks such as planning, facilitation, and documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, Social Science, or Development Studies; 5 years of professional experience in project management and grants management, including advising civil society organizations; 4 years of experience in donor or donor-funded development programmes; 4 years of relevant work experience in Sudan with proven knowledge of Sudan and its civil society; proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel and real-time collaboration tools; meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills; experience working in multicultural and decentralized teams; excellent command of English and Arabic; proven experience with project management tools and software; experience with Call for Proposals and digital grant management platforms is an asset.
