WASH Officer, P2

The WASH Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing UNICEF's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programmes in Port Sudan, Sudan. Key duties include donor reporting and documentation, knowledge management and communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement, dissemination of new knowledge into country programmes (including innovation and capacity building), and programme monitoring and data management. The role requires close collaboration with local authorities, partners, and communities to ensure the effective delivery of WASH services, particularly in complex humanitarian and development environments. The officer will contribute to UNICEF's equity strategy by prioritizing the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families, ensuring their rights to survival, development, and protection are upheld.

A bachelor’s degree in public health, International Development, WASH, Social Sciences, Communications, Engineering, or another field relevant to WASH programme management is required; At least 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), WASH programme management, WASH project proposal development, WASH project reporting, and related fields; Fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset; Experience in donor reporting, proposal development, grant management, WASH communication, and WASH knowledge management is an asset; Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is preferred.
