Head of Field Office
Job Description
The Head of Field Office in Kasulu, Tanzania, will lead the WFP's operations in the Kasulu Sub Office, managing a large refugee operation assisting approximately 90,000 refugees. Key responsibilities include providing food assistance and nutrition services to both refugees and host communities in Kigoma Region, implementing livelihoods and resilience activities with smallholder farmers and AMCOS to strengthen market access and productivity, and contributing to nutrition outcomes through malnutrition prevention and food fortification initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with UN agencies, government authorities, NGOs, and other partners to ensure effective delivery of integrated food assistance, nutrition, and resilience-building programmes. The position requires leadership in managing a team, overseeing programme implementation, and ensuring alignment with WFP's strategic goals and operational policies. The Head of Field Office will also represent WFP in local and regional forums, advocate for the needs of the communities served, and ensure compliance with WFP's values of Integrity, Collaboration, Commitment, Humanity, and Inclusion.
Requirements
Advanced Degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Agriculture, Nutrition, or related disciplines); 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian assistance, programme management, or a related field; demonstrated leadership and management skills with experience in team supervision; strong collaboration and communication skills; proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to the role; ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment; commitment to WFP's core values (Integrity, Collaboration, Commitment, Humanity, and Inclusion); experience in working with refugees, host communities, or in conflict-affected areas is highly desirable.
