ACS Intern On Data Analysis
Job Description
The ACS Intern on Data Analysis will provide critical support in statistical data management, research, data visualization, and analytical reporting. The intern will engage with development indicators, statistical databases, and analytical tools while assisting in research and capacity-building activities that underpin evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development across Africa. Primary responsibilities include profiling emerging data sources to address statistical data gaps, compiling metadata from national and international statistical sources, and supporting the harmonization and comparability of African development indicators. The intern will assist in developing statistical tools that automate analytical processes, recommend modern tools for statistical data visualization, and prepare statistical summaries, methodologies, and analytical reports. Additionally, the role involves supporting statistical data compilation, economic analysis, and data management, as well as contributing to research activities that inform policy analysis. The intern will also participate in the development of dashboards and data management tools, prepare technical documentation and background materials, and support capacity-building initiatives and training activities. The position requires organizing and maintaining standardized datasets and statistical records.
Requirements
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate degree program (Master's degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (Bachelor's degree or equivalent). Preferred qualification: Completion of a Master's degree or enrollment in a PhD program in a development-related field is highly desirable. Required skills: Knowledge of statistical analysis and data management; research and analytical skills; data visualization skills; ability to prepare reports and technical documentation; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
