Security Assistant, G-5, TA

Under the supervision of the Security Associate (G-6), the Security Assistant provides technical, operational, and administrative support to the Country Field Security Advisor (CFSA) and the Security Section. The role ensures the safety and security of personnel and eligible family members of all UNICEF personnel in Kenya, safeguards UNICEF assets and premises, and supports secure programme implementation. Responsibilities include compliance with UN security policies, procedures, and standards, as well as contributing to security planning, safety and security services, security coordination and networking, and knowledge management and capacity building. The position requires adherence to humanitarian operations standards, including incident reporting, MOSS (Minimum Operating Security Standards), contingency planning, and vehicle tracking systems.

Secondary Education in any related fields; At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Security, security management, risk management, emergency response, physical security, incident management, field operations, stakeholder coordination, safety compliance, training and capacity building, travel security; Strong experience in Security Information, Analytical Skills, Communication, Coordination, Planning, and Reporting skills; Fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable; Knowledge of Humanitarian Operations, Residential Security, Incident Reporting, MOSS, Contingency Planning, and Vehicle Tracking Systems is considered an asset; Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is preferred.
