Occupational Therapist

AIC Kijabe Hospital is seeking a qualified and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to promote independence and improve quality of life for individuals with physical, developmental, or emotional disabilities. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough patient evaluations to identify functional limitations, developing personalized treatment plans that address cognitive, physical, and psychosocial needs, and implementing therapeutic interventions such as activities of daily living (ADL) training, adaptive equipment training, and sensory integration techniques. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care, provide patient and family education on home exercise programs and adaptive strategies, and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Additionally, the role involves participating in community outreach programs to raise awareness about occupational therapy services and advocating for the needs of patients with disabilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution; Valid practicing license from the Kenya Society of Occupational Therapists (KSOT); Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a clinical setting; Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices; Proficiency in assessing and treating patients with neurological, orthopedic, and developmental conditions; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team; Compassionate and patient-centered approach; Proficiency in English and Swahili (written and verbal); Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
