Job Description
Fido Uganda is seeking a Head of Business Development to lead product innovation, identify strategic partnerships, and drive expansion in the fintech sector. The role involves managing key stakeholder relationships and leading a high-performing team to deliver financial solutions. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with the Product team to develop new products and innovative solutions aligned with the company's product roadmap. The position requires conducting market research to gather customer needs and support optimal product solutions for Fido customers. Additionally, the role involves identifying, establishing, and nurturing strategic partnerships to facilitate the successful launch of products outlined in the company's roadmap. The Head of Business Development will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, regulatory authorities, and industry influencers, while representing the company in negotiations and discussions with external parties. The role also includes gathering competitive intelligence, conducting industry trend analysis, and deriving data-driven decisions to refine business strategies and identify growth opportunities for new products. The position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive the expansion of the company's existing and new products, as well as leading efforts in raising debt to support expansion initiatives. The role requires fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team, recruiting (on demand), mentoring, and leading a high-performing business development team.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus; Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the fintech or financial services sector; Proven track record in product innovation and strategic partnership development; Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading high-performing teams; Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities; Experience in conducting market research and competitive intelligence analysis; Data-driven decision-making skills; Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance in financial services; Proficiency in business strategy development and execution; Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; Strong communication and presentation skills.
