Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing all civil maintenance activities within Partners In Health's operational facilities in Sierra Leone. The Head of Maintenance will lead a team of technicians and artisans specializing in masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and painting to ensure the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of all buildings and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance schedules, responding to emergency repair requests, managing procurement of materials, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The position requires close collaboration with facility managers, program teams, and external contractors to align maintenance activities with organizational goals. Additionally, the role involves training staff on preventive maintenance practices and documenting all maintenance activities for reporting purposes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in maintenance management within a healthcare, NGO, or institutional setting; demonstrated expertise in masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and painting; strong leadership and team management skills; proficiency in budgeting and resource allocation; ability to work in high-pressure environments; valid driver’s license; familiarity with Sierra Leone’s regulatory standards for building maintenance is a plus.
