Dialysis Nurse
Job Description
Provide safe and effective haemodialysis treatment to patients by preparing, operating, and monitoring dialysis machines before, during, and after treatment. Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis, documenting findings accurately to ensure continuity of care. Monitor patients for complications and respond promptly to emergencies, maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control within the dialysis unit. Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies as required, ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on dialysis care, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term health outcomes. Collaborate with nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, quality patient care while ensuring proper maintenance and handling of dialysis equipment and supplies.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) with a valid practicing licence; Specialized training/certification in Haemodialysis Nursing; At least 2 years' experience in a dialysis unit (added advantage); Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (added advantage); High level of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork
