Job Description
The Medical Doctor Specialist will provide advanced medical care and leadership in clinical services at Ifakara Health Institute. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions, supervising junior medical staff, developing treatment protocols, conducting research to improve patient outcomes, and ensuring adherence to medical ethics and standards. The role involves working in a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams to enhance healthcare delivery in Bagamoyo and surrounding regions. The specialist will also participate in community health outreach programs and contribute to institutional training initiatives.
Requirements
Medical Doctor degree (MD) from a recognized institution; Board certification or specialist qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery); Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience; Valid medical license to practice in Tanzania; Strong leadership and team management skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; Experience in clinical research and public health initiatives; Proficiency in Swahili and English; Willingness to work in rural or semi-urban settings.
