Senior Accountant

Our client in the security sector, with operations across the East African region, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, managing financial controls, and supporting the organization’s financial performance. The position reports to the Finance Manager and offers excellent career development opportunities within a fast-growing multinational organization. The role is based in Dar es Salaam, and the ideal candidate must be a Tanzanian national. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. - Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness. - Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and internal financial policies. - Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to aid business decision-making. - Maintain and strengthen financial controls, accounting procedures, and documentation to ensure audit readiness. - Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, banks, and other stakeholders while supporting continuous process improvements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. - CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification completed or at the final stage. - Membership in a recognized accounting professional body is an added advantage. - 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a similar finance role. - Strong experience in preparing financial statements, tax compliance, statutory reporting, payroll processing, and financial controls. - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is an added advantage.
