Project Coordinator - Health Program
Job Description
The Health Officer is responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of Plan International’s Health interventions in three localities (Aljablain, Tandalti, and Eldouim) to strengthen the overall health system. The role involves enhancing the quality of primary health care services (OPD, SRH, EPI, HP, investigation, etc.) at supported PHCs to meet national standards, contributing to health emergency responses, and implementing community health activities. The Health Officer will report achievements, provided services, accomplishments, and challenges to the Project Manager. Key responsibilities include developing weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans for health activities, supporting PHC staff capacities, mobilizing communities and local authorities, ensuring quality primary health care services, conducting training, and maintaining infection prevention and control. The role also involves monitoring disease trends, coordinating with MOH staff, and ensuring all PHCs are equipped with necessary medical tools and supplies. Additionally, the Health Officer will supervise fixed PHCs and mobile teams, conduct supportive monitoring visits, and ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and gender equality principles.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; 3+ years of professional experience in health program implementation, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts; experience in primary health care, maternal and child health, or community health programs; strong knowledge of national and international health protocols and standards (MOH, WHO); experience in training and capacity building; proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting; familiarity with safeguarding policies and gender equality principles; ability to work in challenging environments; strong communication and coordination skills; proficiency in English (additional languages are an asset).
