Study Rider Jobs – Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration

The Study Rider position at the Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) involves supporting field-based research activities related to infectious diseases such as Malaria, HIV, and Tuberculosis. The role includes traveling to various study sites to collect data, assist in sample collection, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain communication with study participants and local health authorities. Study Riders play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of research protocols, adherence to ethical guidelines, and timely data submission to the research team. The position requires a high level of reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments, often in rural or remote areas.

Secondary school certificate or equivalent; basic knowledge of infectious diseases; ability to travel extensively within Uganda; valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams; proficiency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Luganda, Swahili, or Lusoga); basic computer literacy for data entry; willingness to work in rural or remote areas; no prior research experience required but an asset.
