Public Partnerships Specialist

Job Description

The Public Partnerships Specialist (P-3) will work within the Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR) to strengthen UNICEF’s strategic partnerships with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF). The role involves developing and implementing influence, engagement, and advocacy strategies to position UNICEF as a partner of choice for income and influence. Responsibilities include contributing to resource mobilization efforts, negotiating and coordinating high-level engagements, providing strategic analysis and recommendations to senior management, and supporting the development of policy papers and guidelines. The position requires monitoring global trends in development cooperation, preparing comprehensive briefs and reports for senior officials, and maintaining a deep knowledge of assigned partners. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with Regional and Country Offices to guide partnership opportunities and designing capacity-building initiatives. The Specialist will serve as a resource for colleagues on IFI-related partnership opportunities and contribute to corporate planning and knowledge management processes.

Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in International Business Relations, Political Science, Economics, Finance, International Development, or other relevant technical fields; At least 5 years of relevant work experience in public partnerships, external relations, resource mobilization, public policy, or diplomacy; Demonstrated experience working with or for International Financial Institutions; Experience engaging with multilateral organizations, governments, or international financial institutions; Experience developing and implementing partnership, engagement, or advocacy strategies; Experience preparing strategic analysis, executive briefing materials, and recommendations for senior leadership engagement; Experience monitoring and analyzing political, institutional, and financing trends and translating them into actionable recommendations; Experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and high-level engagements.
