Family Protection Consultant

Job Description

The Family Protection Consultant will support IRC Jordan’s preparation for the introduction and contextual adaptation of the Safe at Home approach in Jordan. The role involves mapping institutions, services, and programs relevant to Safe at Home implementation and referral pathways, including identifying service gaps, accessibility barriers, and coordination opportunities. The consultant will conduct a technical review and contextual adaptation of Arabic Safe at Home materials against English source materials, ensuring alignment with Jordanian protection frameworks and relevant JRF curricula. Key tasks include institutional and service mapping, stakeholder consultations, technical review of protection curricula, and alignment with JRF curricula to facilitate future integration. The consultant will work closely with IRC, the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA), and the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) to ensure the adapted materials preserve the evidence-based core components of Safe at Home while being contextually appropriate for Jordan.

Requirements

At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in GBV, child protection, family violence prevention and response, safeguarding, or related protection programming; full professional fluency in Arabic and English; demonstrated experience technically reviewing, developing, or adapting Arabic GBV, child protection, family violence prevention and response, or safeguarding curricula, facilitator guides, and training materials; strong technical knowledge of intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, GBV, child protection, survivor-centered approaches, the best interests of the child, case management, safeguarding, disability inclusion, older-person inclusion, and safe referral; demonstrated experience conducting institutional or service mapping, stakeholder consultations, referral pathway analysis, program or curriculum mapping, or comparable research in Jordan; strong knowledge of the Jordanian protection and service landscape, including family support, social development, disability and older-person services, legal and health services, and mental health and psychosocial support; strong analytical writing, facilitation, interviewing, information management, quality assurance, and presentation skills; translation or linguistic proofreading experience alone does not meet the requirements of this consultancy.
