Communications Specialist

The Programme Policy Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring nutrition and food security policies and programmes in alignment with WFP's strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, designing policy frameworks, coordinating with government and NGO partners, and ensuring compliance with international standards. The officer will provide technical guidance to field teams, lead capacity-building initiatives, and contribute to advocacy efforts to influence national and regional policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience in programme design, and a deep understanding of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and social protection systems.

Advanced university degree (Master's) in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences, or related field; minimum 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme management, policy development, or related areas within the UN system or international NGOs; proven track record in designing and implementing nutrition and food security programmes; strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; proficiency in English and French (both written and oral) is highly desirable; familiarity with Kenya's national policies and development frameworks is an added advantage.
