Job Description
Provides technical guidance and strategic direction on environmental management and sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include developing environmental policies, conducting impact assessments, ensuring compliance with national and international environmental regulations, and supporting project teams in integrating environmental best practices. The role involves collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities to promote sustainable resource management and biodiversity conservation. Key deliverables include environmental impact reports, training materials for staff, and monitoring frameworks for ongoing projects.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or related field; minimum 5 years of progressive experience in environmental advisory roles; strong knowledge of Rwanda's environmental policies and international frameworks (e.g., SDGs, Paris Agreement); proficiency in environmental impact assessment tools and GIS software; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
