Faculty, Psychiatry

The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) is seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to join its faculty and contribute to its mission of delivering equitable, high-quality healthcare education and research in Rwanda and beyond. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical students and residents, providing clinical supervision, and engaging in curriculum development within the psychiatry department. This role involves delivering didactic lectures, facilitating case-based learning sessions, and participating in interprofessional education initiatives. The faculty member will also contribute to ongoing research projects focused on mental health, particularly in resource-limited settings, and may provide direct patient care in affiliated clinical settings. The position requires a strong commitment to equity in healthcare and a passion for training the next generation of health professionals.

MD or equivalent degree in Medicine; Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry; Minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in psychiatry; Experience in medical education or teaching in a university or academic hospital setting; Demonstrated commitment to equity in healthcare; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Fluency in English (French and/or Kinyarwanda is an asset); Valid medical license to practice in Rwanda or eligibility for licensure; Experience working in low-resource settings is highly desirable.
