The Cashier Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of JDC Ethiopia by managing cash and bank transactions, processing payments, maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements, and supporting sound financial controls. The position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial documentation, safeguarding organizational assets, and ensuring timely financial processing. The role involves handling sensitive financial data, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the organization's mission in Ethiopia.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles; proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar); strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines; familiarity with financial compliance and donor reporting requirements; excellent communication skills; experience in a humanitarian or NGO sector is a plus.
