Debtors & Creditors Clerk

Job Description

The Debtors & Creditors Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all debtors and creditors transactions. This includes posting invoices, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding balances. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with company policies and regulatory standards. The clerk will work closely with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies, prepare aging reports, and support month-end closing processes. Additionally, the position involves liaising with clients and vendors to address payment inquiries and discrepancies, ensuring smooth financial operations within the organization.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; At least 2 years of experience in debtors and creditors management; Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar); Strong numerical and analytical skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines; Knowledge of Ugandan accounting standards and tax regulations is an added advantage.
