Senior Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, support audits, and provide leadership to junior accounting staff. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts. - Ensure accounting records comply with applicable GAAP or IFRS standards and Ethiopian tax regulations. - Prepare accurate financial reports and maintain complete accounting documentation. - Coordinate with external auditors and provide all required supporting documents during audits. - Monitor internal financial controls and recommend process improvements. - Supervise, train, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff. - Assist management with budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting. - Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree (BA/BSc) in Accounting, Finance. - Professional certifications (such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an added advantage. - Minimum of 3ā5 years of relevant professional accounting experience. - Experience in a hospital, manufacturing company, or large private organization is an advantage. Required Skills - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting. - Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Peachtree or similar ERP/accounting systems. - Good understanding of GAAP or IFRS and Ethiopian tax laws. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with high accuracy.
Requirements
