Senior Finance Manager

The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions of the RESET project are performed in accordance with IRC’s policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position supports a 5-year FCDO-funded project aimed at making Uganda’s refugee response more sustainable and locally owned. Reporting to the Deputy Director Finance, the role oversees financial management and sub-award management for the project team. Primary duties include leading the annual project budgeting process with support from technical and grant teams, reviewing spending plans and reports to ensure alignment with Budget Variance Analysis (BVA), and executing monthly budget variance analysis for IRC and partners. The role also involves reviewing financial reports from sub-grantees, verifying completeness and accuracy of accounting documents, assessing partner risks, and preparing donor financial reports to ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations. Additionally, the Senior Finance Manager collaborates with the entire finance team to support other financial management processes as assigned by the Deputy Director Finance.
