Burundi People Division Lead (Fixed-term)
Job Description
The People Division Lead’s primary role is to make One Acre Fund Burundi the best place to work in the country for development professionals looking to build a career in social impact. This position is responsible for building best-in-class people functions to recruit, develop, and retain top talent, driving innovation across all HR and talent functions, and maintaining the organization’s unique culture as the program scales in Burundi. Key responsibilities include setting and executing a long-term vision for human capital and talent functions, managing teams such as Human Resources (HR), Corporate Operations, Recruitment, and Training/Learning & Development, and participating in the Burundi Program’s steering committee. The role also involves leading change management initiatives, improving staff satisfaction, and ensuring legal compliance while using data-driven decisions to enhance performance management. The position requires strong collaboration with country leadership, global People teams, and cross-functional leaders to align People services with organizational goals.
Requirements
University degree or Master's in law, human resources management, or other related domains; at least 5 years of experience in human resources management and/or large/complex management; demonstrated experience in people management and team development; strong decision-making and communication skills; ability to analyze data and make sound judgments; emotional intelligence and empathy; strong project management skills; excellent planning and execution skills; ability to lead a team, define a vision, and deliver results to meet annual goals; proficiency in English and French required; knowledge of Kirundi is an added value.
