Deputy Nurse In-Charges – Theatre Job
Job Description
Supervise theatre nursing operations and maintain high-quality perioperative care within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards. Lead a team of theatre nurses and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other medical professionals to optimize surgical workflows and patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya regulations and hospital policies. Maintain accurate documentation of surgical cases, inventory management, and equipment maintenance records. Act as a liaison between the theatre team and other hospital departments to facilitate seamless patient care.
Requirements
Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) with a minimum of 4 years’ nursing experience; at least 1 year in a leadership or team lead role in a similar healthcare setting; registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid Practicing License; valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; strong leadership and communication skills; sound clinical competence in nursing practices and patient care protocols; proficiency in conflict resolution and decision-making; comfort with digital documentation and hospital systems; excellent organizational and attention-to-detail abilities; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
