Development Director

The Development Director oversees the design, implementation, and monitoring of resource mobilization efforts to support the IRC's mission. Key responsibilities include donor relations and reporting, collaborating with headquarters on a new fundraising structure for individual donors, outreach to local corporate and private foundation donors, and special events planning. The role involves providing effective oversight over regional operations and stewardship of resources as part of the senior leadership team. The position reports to the Executive Director of the Sacramento/Turlock region and requires active participation in leadership team meetings and collaboration with management to ensure efficient service delivery. Additional duties include representing the IRC at meetings, seminars, and forums, and assisting in raising awareness about the organization's work.

University degree (BA/BS) required; graduate degree in Development, Nonprofit Management, Business Management, or International Relations preferred; minimum of five years prior experience with leading fundraising, communications, public relations, and other development duties in the non-profit sector; impeccable attention to detail; experience with Salesforce strongly preferred; strong writing skills; strong donor network in the Sacramento/Central Valley region preferred; demonstrated record of foundation and donor relations with successful development of private foundation grant proposals; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience coordinating multiple partners and consensus building toward common goals; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research; strong organizational, leadership, and team-building skills.
