Job Description
Our client is a rapidly growing global fintech and digital asset solutions provider focused on enabling seamless access to financial markets through proprietary technology, trading infrastructure, and cross-border capabilities. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to support their expansion into Tanzania, establishing and scaling local operations while driving adoption of their FX and blockchain-powered financial solutions. The role involves supporting the establishment and incorporation of the Tanzanian entity, facilitating local banking relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating onboarding with FX brokers, crypto exchanges, and payment service providers. The position also requires driving the growth of FX trading and digital asset solutions in Tanzania, identifying and onboarding key clients (HNWIs, institutional players, fintechs, payment providers, corporates, and SMEs), and building strategic relationships with banks, financial institutions, payment providers, and crypto/blockchain ecosystem participants. Additionally, the role involves engaging with regulators, monitoring market developments, collaborating with global teams, and supporting entity administration and compliance. The Business Development Manager will act as the local face of the business in Tanzania.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years’ experience within banking, FX/trading, or fintech; strong understanding of financial markets and cross-border transactions; knowledge of the Tanzanian financial services landscape; familiarity with cross-border payments, FX frameworks, and regulatory environments in East Africa; proven track record in market entry or expansion, client acquisition, and revenue generation; strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills; fluency in Swahili and English (essential); entrepreneurial mindset; ability to operate independently; strong organizational and project management capabilities; existing relationships with Tanzanian banks, fintechs, or financial institutions; experience with digital assets, crypto trading, or blockchain ecosystems; exposure to emerging markets or pan-African financial ecosystems; track record in launching new financial products or market initiatives.
