Accounts Receivable Officer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounts receivable functions for a distinguished and trusted leader in East Africa’s electric motor and rotating equipment repair industry. Primary duties include maintaining the billing system, resolving collections through customer payment plans and payment history, generating invoices or entering data on invoices with proper coding, and ensuring accurate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivables status. The role involves performing account reconciliations to verify the validity of account discrepancies, conducting day-to-day financial transactions such as verifying, posting, and recording receivables, and maintaining organized accounts receivables files and records. Additionally, the candidate will generate monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements and reports detailing paid accounts, investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries, and assist in general financial management and analysis. The position also includes preparation of cheques, posting of payments for suppliers and other regular expenses, raising local purchase orders, following up with suppliers to ensure their payments, and ensuring compliance with monthly statutory filings such as PAYE, VAT, NSSF, and NHIF.

Requirements

Qualifications - Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration. - Must have CPA II - Must have a Minimum 3 years working in a similar role - Well versed with Monthly statutory Filings – PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF. - Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop accounting system, plus Microsoft office Suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) - Proven accounting experience, preferably in Accounts Receivables - Results oriented and ability to deliver within very strict deadlines - Basic HR knowledge will be an added advantage. - Well versed in Emerging taxation trends and new KRA Procedures. - A good team player with excellent communication skills - Can work under minimal supervision. - High levels of personal discipline and ability to respect organizational authority structures.
