Communications Officer at Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC)

The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing RWAMREC’s communication strategies to raise awareness about gender-based violence prevention, men’s engagement in gender equality, and related advocacy initiatives. Key responsibilities include creating compelling content for social media, websites, newsletters, and press releases; managing RWAMREC’s online presence and digital platforms; coordinating media engagements and interviews; producing advocacy materials such as brochures, reports, and infographics; and ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels. The role involves collaborating with program teams to document success stories, events, and project outcomes, as well as supporting fundraising efforts through the development of proposals and donor reports. Additionally, the Communications Officer will monitor and analyze media coverage and public sentiment to inform strategic communication adjustments.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, media, or advocacy; strong writing and editing skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an asset); proficiency in social media management and digital content creation; experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems; demonstrated ability to develop and execute communication strategies; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; familiarity with gender equality and social justice issues is highly desirable.
