Credit Officer (Microfinance)
Job Description
Responsible for evaluating creditworthiness of microfinance loan applicants, processing loan applications, and ensuring compliance with microfinance regulations. Duties include conducting field visits to verify borrower information, analyzing financial statements, and recommending loan approvals or rejections. The role requires maintaining accurate records of all credit transactions and providing guidance to borrowers on loan repayment schedules. Works closely with branch managers and loan committees to assess risk and approve loans within set limits. Ensures adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; minimum 2 years of experience in microfinance or banking sector; strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office; excellent communication and customer service skills; knowledge of Rwandan microfinance regulations; fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
