Financial Officer - Stores Management

The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is seeking a qualified Financial Officer to oversee and manage the Stores Management function within the organization. The role involves ensuring efficient procurement, inventory control, and financial management of stores operations. Key responsibilities include managing stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, preparing financial reports related to stores activities, and ensuring compliance with government procurement regulations and financial policies. The officer will work closely with the finance and procurement teams to maintain accurate records, optimize inventory costs, and support the council's scientific and technological initiatives through effective resource management. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic government environment.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Professional qualification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage; Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, stores management, or procurement; Experience in government or public sector financial management is preferred; Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; Knowledge of Ugandan procurement laws and financial regulations; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
