Plumber (Larger-Diameter Pipe Installation)

<p><strong>Department:</strong> Agriculture — Irrigation</p> <p><strong>Reports To:</strong> Senior Irrigation Engineer</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Plumber will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of larger-diameter water pipes used for bulk water supply and irrigation distribution. The role will focus on ensuring large-diameter pipeline installations are properly joined, aligned, secured, tested, and maintained to support reliable water distribution across the irrigation system.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul><li>Install and maintain larger-diameter water pipes for bulk water supply and irrigation distribution.</li><li>Join, align, and secure large-diameter pipe sections, including HDPE, PVC, and steel, using appropriate techniques and fittings.</li><li>Carry out pressure testing and leak detection on installed pipework.</li><li>Coordinate with the Pipe Fitter and Senior Irrigation Engineer on the overall layout of the water-distribution network.</li><li>Perform routine inspection and repair of existing large-diameter pipe installations.</li><li>Maintain a safe worksite in line with health and safety guidelines during installation works.</li></ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:</strong></p> <ul><li>Trade Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent.</li><li>3–5 years of plumbing experience, with specific experience handling larger-diameter pipe installation for bulk water-supply lines.</li><li>Practical knowledge of large-diameter pipe jointing techniques, including welding, fusion, and mechanical coupling as applicable.</li><li>Strong leak-diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret pipeline layouts.</li><li>Good understanding of safe working practices during large-diameter pipeline installation and maintenance.</li></ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Deadline:</strong></p> <p>18th September 2026</p><p></p>
