Temporary Programme Officer – Nutrition Cluster – Jubaland

The Temporary Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating nutrition cluster partners implementing nutrition interventions in Jubaland state by leading sub-national cluster coordination meetings. The role involves managing and facilitating coordination among partners to ensure effective implementation of nutrition programmes. The officer will hierarchically report to the Nutrition DPM based in Kismayo and functionally report to the National Nutrition Cluster Coordinator. Responsibilities include organizing and leading cluster coordination meetings, ensuring adherence to Sphere guidelines and humanitarian standards, and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities in politically and culturally sensitive environments. The officer will also contribute to capacity building of national structures and produce analytical project reports and proposals.

Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Clinical Officer, or equivalent medical qualifications; At least 4 years of proven experience in primary health care through the whole project cycle (needs assessment, planning, developing programmes, managing, M&E); Proven ability to manage programmes including human and material resources; Experience in staff training and capacity building of national structures; Ability to produce analytical and well-presented project reports and proposals; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly at all levels; Familiarity with Sphere guidelines and other humanitarian standards (e.g., Red Cross Code of Conduct); Experience in supervising and motivating field staff; Knowledge of the Somalia health system; Experience in child survival and safe motherhood interventions with international NGOs; Knowledge and experience in Child Right Programming approach; Sensitivity to issues affecting children and commitment to Save the Children’s Child Protection policy.
