Clinical Officer

The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is seeking 11 Clinical Officers to support its research initiatives focused on infectious diseases, including Malaria, HIV, and Tuberculosis. The Clinical Officers will be responsible for providing clinical care to research participants, ensuring adherence to study protocols, and maintaining accurate medical records. They will work closely with the research team to collect high-quality data, monitor participant safety, and contribute to the overall success of clinical trials. The role involves direct patient interaction in research settings, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards in clinical research. Clinical Officers will also assist in training and supervising study staff, as well as participating in community engagement activities to enhance participant recruitment and retention.

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine or a related field; Valid registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council; Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant field; Experience in conducting clinical research or trials is highly desirable; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team and under minimal supervision; Proficiency in English and Swahili; Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines; Willingness to work in rural or remote areas as required by the study sites.
