Grants & Family Strengthening Area Specialist

The Grants Family Strengthening Area Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring grant-funded programs aimed at strengthening family units and preventing family separation in the Kayonza program area. This role involves developing proposals for international donors, managing grant budgets, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and coordinating with local stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders. The specialist will conduct needs assessments, track program progress, and report on outcomes to secure continued funding. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda’s national office and international partners to align programs with organizational strategies and donor priorities.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, International Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, grant writing, and donor reporting; experience working with vulnerable children and families in Rwanda or similar contexts; strong knowledge of grant management systems and donor guidelines (e.g., USAID, EU, UN agencies); proficiency in English and French (Kinyarwanda is an asset); excellent proposal writing and budget management skills; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; familiarity with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and tools.
