Finance Tools Specialist
Job Description
The Finance Tools Specialist at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) serves as the functional focal point for finance systems such as UniField and WeFin, ensuring robust system administration, governance, and performance monitoring. Primary responsibilities include maintaining system configurations, master data, user access controls, and finance-related settings while ensuring compliance with MSF standards. The role involves representing MSF Ubuntu in relevant platforms, coordinating enhancement requests, troubleshooting issues, and providing recommendations for system optimization. Additionally, the specialist supports functional support to users, analyzes root causes of system or process issues, and coordinates resolution with IT and external teams. The position also focuses on process improvement, workflow management, and mapping finance processes to develop standardized, scalable solutions aligned with MSF policies and controls. Deployment, training, and capacity-building activities are key, including designing and delivering training for finance system users, coaching key users, and assessing training needs to improve user competency. The role collaborates closely with Finance, HR, Supply, IT, and Country Programs stakeholders, providing regular reporting and recommendations to the Head of Finance Operations.
Requirements
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum 5 years of experience working with finance ERP systems in a support, administration, implementation, or optimization role; Experience with international NGOs or complex multi-country organizations; Experience with MSF is an asset; Proven experience in functional support of ERP systems and finance applications; Experience with UniField and/or WeFin is a strong asset; Experience in business process analysis, workflow design, and process improvement; Experience delivering training, coaching, and capacity-building initiatives; Strong knowledge of finance ERP systems, configuration, master data management, and user support; Solid understanding of system integrations, data flows, and interfaces between Finance, HR, Supply, and related systems; Knowledge of system implementation lifecycles, UAT, release management, and post-go-live support; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI; Ability to translate complex systems and finance concepts into clear, user-friendly guidance and solutions; Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment; Capacity to work independently with limited supervision; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Strong organizational and planning skills; Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to travel.
