Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Umwalimu SACCO, a leading financial institution dedicated to supporting educators in Rwanda. The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining databases, creating reports and dashboards, performing statistical analyses, and identifying trends to improve operational efficiency and member satisfaction. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to ensure data integrity and support evidence-based policy formulation. Additionally, the Data Analyst will be expected to present findings to senior management in a clear and actionable manner, contributing to the organization's growth and sustainability in Rwanda's education sector.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the financial or cooperative sector; Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis; Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to work with large datasets and perform statistical modeling; Strong communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; Experience with financial data analysis is an added advantage.
