National Information Management Analyst

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Specialist and overall oversight of the Deputy Representative and Representative, the Information Management Analyst is based at the UNFPA Ethiopia Country Office in Addis Ababa. The role focuses on integrating humanitarian and development data into a unified DHIS2 system, managing DHIS2 components for real-time performance tracking, facility-level commodity monitoring, and office-wide data quality accountability. The Analyst provides technical support and evidence-based analysis to ensure high-impact programming and strategic decision-making across the Country Office’s portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing the technical transition to the ITSO/HQ DHIS2 Production Instance, optimizing DHIS2 metadata schema for the 10th Country Programme (2025-2030), overseeing monthly data collection from Implementing Partners via DHIS2, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance. The role also involves developing advanced analytics for performance tracking, expanding 'Target vs. Achievement' overviews, implementing facility-level commodity tracking systems, and maintaining data visualization tools such as maps and dashboards for donor and situational reporting. Additionally, the Analyst supports cross-checking migration tasks, collaborates with M&E teams and partners to improve data collection, and contributes to knowledge management and capacity-building initiatives.

Requirements

Advanced degree in information management, statistics, or a relevant field; at least 2 years of professional experience in information management, humanitarian data management, and monitoring data with exposure to protection and/or health-related data (ideally two years in humanitarian operations); good knowledge of SRH (Sexual and Reproductive Health) and SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence); experience with Humanitarian Assistance Reporting standards in data sourcing, cartographic presentation, and GIS analysis; experience in coordination and liaison with government counterparts and development partners; proficiency in DHIS2 system architecture and advanced configuration; experience in defining and monitoring performance indicators is an asset; experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects is an asset; proficiency in ArcGIS (required); strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical software, and database software; fluency in English required; proficiency in the local language is desirable; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
