Research Assistant

The Research Assistant will support the hospital's mental health research initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and documenting data related to mental health conditions, treatment outcomes, and patient care protocols. Key responsibilities include assisting in the design and implementation of research studies, conducting literature reviews, preparing research proposals, and maintaining accurate records of research findings. The role involves collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure research aligns with clinical priorities. Additionally, the Research Assistant will assist in disseminating research results through reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications to contribute to the advancement of mental health care in Tanzania.

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, or a related field; prior research experience in mental health or clinical settings is highly desirable; strong analytical and data management skills; proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or STATA); excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team; familiarity with ethical research practices and data protection regulations.
