SHEQ Manager
Job Description
The SHEQ Manager will lead and implement the organization’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) strategy. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, continuous improvement, and delivery of high-quality products in line with company and industry standards. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the SHEQ management system in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager, establishing and maintaining integrated systems covering Quality Management (QMS), Food Safety (FSMS), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and Environmental Management. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, builds relationships with regulatory bodies (e.g., UNBS), and defines and monitors product and packaging quality standards. Additionally, the SHEQ Manager will lead Quality Assurance programs, drive Quality at Source initiatives, oversee quality deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). They will facilitate root cause analysis, ensure timely closure of quality issues, and drive continuous improvement programs. The role also involves overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), coordinating plant risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization. The SHEQ Manager will lead, coach, and develop the SHEQ team while ensuring integration of SHEQ practices into operational excellence initiatives (e.g., 5S).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field; Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in SHEQ management, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment; Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and Environmental Management Systems; Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., UNBS, ISO standards); Proven leadership in driving continuous improvement initiatives and process capability enhancements; Experience in laboratory operations, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and testing method validation; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on root cause analysis; Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; Ability to develop and manage departmental budgets; Certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or ISO 22000 are highly desirable.
