Lab Technician/ Biomedical Engineer

Medequip (U) Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Lab Technician / Biomedical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and repairing a wide range of medical laboratory and biomedical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing timely technical support to healthcare facilities across Uganda. The position requires a strong background in biomedical engineering principles, hands-on experience with diagnostic and laboratory equipment, and excellent problem-solving skills. The Lab Technician / Biomedical Engineer will work closely with healthcare professionals to minimize equipment downtime and ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Additionally, the role includes documenting maintenance activities, generating reports, and assisting in the training of staff on equipment usage and safety protocols.

Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field; minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair; proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment; strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics; valid driver's license; excellent communication and teamwork abilities; familiarity with Ugandan healthcare regulations and standards; experience with medical imaging equipment (X-ray, ultrasound, etc.) is an added advantage.
